This map of DTC bus routes was created in the style of a metro map, now taken down on the web I had to do a lot of digging to find it. Created by Sudipto Ghosh and Shimonti Sinha of Citywise in 2016. The project seems to have wrapped up by 2018.

How its made ?

This website is made using Hugo, a static site generator. The theme I use is based on Hugo Bearblog. Which in turn is based on Bear blog. I borrowed the color scheme from somestyleplease, another minimal monospace Hugo theme. You could call this a Hugo Bearblog/somestyleplease hybrid. I also borrow some stuff from Hugo Theme Console, which I was using prior to this for about two years. Additionally I use hugo-shortcode-gallery with some tiny modifications to integrate hugo’s inbuilt dithering to render a copule of image galleries here and there. The Gallery and Scrapbook use a layout based on Bill Glover’s Image Gallery.

An obituary for my wallet

Tyvek is one of the coolest materials I’ve worked with. It’s a fibrous sheet of plastic that by itself it doesn’t feel like much, but when made into a wallet seems to defy the rules of physics. I carried one such Tyvek wallet for over a year. The wallet was completely made by hand and all you need to make one is a sheet of Tyvek, a trusty utility blade (that later found its place inside a concealed pocket in the wallet), a ruler and some high viscosity CA glue.

I operate in short bursts of either creativity or monotonity. Most days pass by in a haze, with nothing more than half-assed bullet journaling at best. Making of lists and plans, browsing the web and collecting trivial information while living walter mitty-esque fantasies of creative fulfilment. Sometimes these menial activities get caught up in an outburst of inspiration telling me to get busy and to get my hands tied in either making a creative fantasy come true or in committing to my state mandated monotony.

I like to support the untaxed, unregulated part of the economy. I don’t haggle with Rikshawalas. They aren’t technically unregulated, they are self regulating. They are perfect order within the lack of order. Nobody decided their prices, nobody made their laws. They operate a thin plane above supply and demand. Ethics and regulations when they exist are based on their morality. They have license plates, but who’s checking ?! Even when anarchy befalls, banks, governments and their issued tokens become obsolete I bet Rikshawalas would still be roaming on their screeching whining rikshaws, charged with stolen electricity. A series of (incoherent) thoughts I have had since joining college.

The curriculum is merely a carcass every student is assigned to drag behind them for the next four years of their life. Even the administration knows this, and they don’t put too much effort into not letting the world know about it.
Exams and academics only exist to provide a goal to those who don’t have a purpose to live up to (yet).
Extra-curricular activities exist, yet as a curriculum themselves. The creative outlet of extra-curricular activities is just reduced to gaining credentials to add after ones name on their resume. Perhaps a form of totalitarianism, imposed by their political correctness. Giving us the freedom to have such collectives yet also prioritizing our careers and placements. Making it much harder to rebel against them. It is easy to rebel against tyranny but tough to rebel against the conformism enforced by the very freedom of choice. It is tough to realise when some granted freedoms of extra-curricular activities become the slaveries of imposed curriculum. This brings me to the question, shall we ever be truly free ? I tried to fit in, in fact if it has been noticed this webpage was reskinned (shall I say stripped of skin, or soul). For the purposes of looking more professional, to be more squared for professional life I had butchered my own creativity. Now that I have realised the status quo, I am no longer afraid of offending people by merely being not squared. This is some paranoia
